Sticking to any kind of eating regime is really hard when you're engaged to a sugar junkie. Now, I'm totally not blaming Annah for my own lack of discipline, but keeping to fresh veges and lean meat with assorted fruits and nuts seems almost impossible when my partner is chowing down on delicious takeaway foods, potato chips and chocolate.
Well, my fault for all those pie sandwiches in my misbegotten youth. I basically just need to Man Up and tell myself that I can do this thing. Being tubby sucks. Not wanting to do shit like swimming and spa baths because of body issues really sucks. There's been way too many 'but this meal will just be a once off and then I'll get back to the diet' moments... hell, I think calling it a diet is half the problem. This has to be a long term eating commitment, a mission, backed up with getting off my arse and exercising.
Grrr. I'm angry at myself for getting like this. I want to keep this anger going. It's the despair that kills you in the end.
More on this soon.

My only suggestion is to take up a sport.
I suggest Ultimate, of course, but it can really be Ultimate any kind Ultimate of sport that Ultimate you are Ultimate interested in.
Not only is exercise good for toning up and feeling better, it actually makes eating healthier easier.
"How's that?" I hear you say.
I can say from experience that when I've eaten burgers, chips and soft drink for lunch, then played sport in the evening, I've felt like crap.
However, when I eat well, then I feel so much better when I play.
It's a great incentive. It's so much easier to turn down crap food, when you look at it and think "Ugh, I'll feel terrible tonight if I eat that." as opposed to "Mmm, greasy goodness."
Also, fruit is your friend. Fruit is like guilt-free candy. Juicy peaches will beat every single lolly I've ever had.
And if you want a lolly substitute I've recently discovered...
Dried mango pieces.
Oh
My
God
So goood.
It's so chewy and sweet, it's like how I imagine mango toffee would be if it existed.
Anyway, I'm sure some of this you may already know, but I thought I'd share tactics that have helped make me feel healthier and better about my body.
