WINZ was disappointingly boring, actually. And by boring I mean they didn't even bother to be offensively patronizing or mind bendingly dull.
There were the Three Token White Trash Dudes and Me In Suit Jacket, sitting around in a room whilst this thicky accented Samoan guy in a pink shirt two sizes too small for him droned his way through an OHT presentation about how being on the dole sucks and that we totally want jobs as soon as possible.
...aaaaaaand that was it. I can't go any further in the application process for now since I'm still a student, and hopefully I'll have found a job anyway before that, so I won't have to go any further with it.
I was motivated to find holiday work though, since sitting in WINZ for an hour reminded me how much I hate the place.
True to form, all the jobs they showed us were along the theme of kitchen hand, toilet cleaner, unskilled laborers, and so on. Should it come to it, I can't wait to sit there with my degree and ask them what kind of design industry work they have for me.
