Went to see the Watchmen tonight. Enjoyed it quite a lot. Some bits were crap, mainly the puerile treatment of sex and violence in comparison to the comic, and of course the casting of Ozzy wasn't the best, though this paled in comparison to the sheer amount of sinister schemer mugging he does for the camera. "Look at me! I am plotting! Moohoohaha!"
Having said that, I still largely loved the film. They got so much stuff spot on, I can forgive the crap bits and will probably go to see it again. Rorschach and The Comedian were especially perfect and made the movie.
Steph made the accurate observation that the glowing blue penis got a few giggles (I admit to smirking somewhat) whilst the gratuitous boob and thigh shots got no reaction from the audience - because we're all used to see that kinda thing. Things to thunk about.
I am very, very seriously considering applying for whatever work I can find, design or not. I want to live in town and have freedom of movement really badly.
