Vroooom

Today Annika took me out for a driving lesson. It was both comedy gold and totally awesome fun. The car's an automatic, which is probably the best way to keep me interested in further lessons in the short term, though I will be practicing on a manual later on, once I've gotten used to the vehicle's dimensions and things like acceleration, breaking and not driving into a ditch at 60 kilometers an hour.

We covered things like blind spots, and 3 point turns, reversing and hooning up and down this rather charming rural street with huge old trees and expensive houses where the inhabitants watched us with suspicious eyes whilst sipping wine from flute glasses and keeping half an eye on their kangeroo meat export stocks or something.

It was a successful outing. We plan on going out most days, since practice makes perfect, and after all I have many years of careful, studious not driving to make up for.

Earlier on in the day I went jogging again. This time I managed to cover half the route running, and this was also with Annika on rollerblades holding onto my arm like grim death and flailing about like an adorably cute baby giraffe on wheels whenever we hit a slight downhill slope on the footpath.

All in all this day has been made of win.
