Job interview got moved to Wednesday. Office lady scared the crap out of me when she rang up sounding all apologetic. I was thinking they'd already found some amazing star designer who just quit from Saatchi and Saatchi and was really looking for something more relaxing in a small town working on desktop publications, so frankly hearing that I instead just had to come in two days later and at 11 instead of 9 was perfectly fine.
It's funny how four years of training gets into your head. I notice things now, like the spaces between objects or that every second sign in Palmerston North makes criminally gratuitous use of the Comic Sans type face, or that a poster cleverly draws your eye to a certain spot. Or stupidly fails to. Other times I'll piss off friends at the movies by gushing about the amazing editing work during an action sequence and they'll bring me down to earth in a friendly way by pouring petrol into my lap and threatening me with a zippo.
I started watching True Blood, which is, let me say, basically the kind of vampire television show that I've always wanted to watch. The characters are fantastic, even the background dudes who never get much air time. The vampires are mainly monsters, and the inevitable angsty lead guy who watched his family grow old and die, even he occasionally has the piss taken out of him or gets put into farcical situations. Man I love HBO. Also, I sat down with Ben tonight and watched season one of Absolute Power, which is basically about Stephen Fry being the most objectionable human being in existence, and making you like him at the same time. Good stuff.
I suspect I have rambled enough. Soooo onwards, to bed! Happy weekend, peoples.
