Soupy

I decided to snap out of my depression with the only method that has consistently made sense down through the centuries. By making soup.

So a quick jaunt to the supermarket and I came back with:

6 hellers lamb and mint sausages
rosemary
sage
curry powder
1 onion
3 parsnips
1 swede
Half a pumpkin
3 carrots
1 potato
black pepper
garlic clove (whole)
king traditional soup mix, country chicken (grains, lentils, flavouring)

I put the soup mix and some herbs and sausages into the pot with water, and brought it to boil, since I wanted the sausages to add to the flavour while they cooked. While this happened, I sliced, and diced up all the vegetables except for the pumpkin, and added them all. The pumpkin got cut up and boiled seperately. Once it was nice and soft, I mashed it up and added it to the mix, and removed the cooked sausage, sliced them up and put them back into the soup, which looked like this...

And then it was just a matter of letting it simmer and making sure it didn't stick to the bottom of the somewhat substandard pot. Occasionally I did a taste test and wow. Delicious. Spicy and very garlicky and amazing.

Once the grated carrot and parsnip is pretty much rendered down, the soup is good to go. I let it sit for a bit to stew in it's own deliciousness, and tadaa! Of course, it won't be perfect until tomorrow after it's really had the time to infuse the rays of the cosmos, but it tastes pretty damn awesome right now nonetheless.

Served with two slices of wholemeal toast and butter. Om nom nom nom.

I leave it there as a warning to others.
