1) 48 Hour Film Competition was amazing fun as always. I think this year's effort will end up rated below last year's zombie movie because of a) only having one shooting team and not two (this makes an enormous difference) and b) overwriting the script slightly (we should have taken all the dialogue out from the prompts and measured it for page length). The genre we got given was 'twins' and our story focused around the joys of having your previously conjoined twin surgically removed and kidnapped.
I'd go on about the 48 some more, but Jenna is planning on being lazy and linking to me instead of writing about her own experiences AND WE CAN'T HAVE THAT CAN WE? So I shall thwart her by going on about a bunch of other stuff instead!
2) Jobs suddenly seem to be raining from the sky. Craig is passing on a poster job that he doesn't have time for (assuming they accept the costing) and one of the authors of the book I'll be illustrating might have another illustration job to throw at me, which we'll be discussing this week over skype. Excitement!
3) Moving date to Wellington has hopefully been set. The room is being vacated on the 1st of May, and I'm looking to move down on the following weekend, ideally in time for nessaneko's graduation party. WOAH HOLY CRAP. I don't know if this gives me enough time to sort things out with the design company I'm doing the trial job for, so I'll be contacting them this week and arranging to bus back up for any possible meetings that might have to happen.
4) 3rd episode of the new Doctor Who series was balls. Why are so many Dalek episodes just a bit shit? I didn't overly mind since I know Dr Who is very up and down quality wise, and always has been, but still. It was balls.
