Ahh, those moments in life where you feel just a teensy bit vindicated...

IN OTHER NEWS THE 48 IS ALMOST UPON US OH YEAH.

This year should be interesting. Less equipment (we couldn't even steal any Ucol stuff this time around) and our chief editor ended up getting a job in Auckland (THE BASTARD) so Craig is taking the reigns at the computer. This means he won't be behind any cameras which is a bit poos. Ah well, I'm sure we'll manage. I've been looking over last year's script, which was pretty much perfect duration wise, but could well have been made simpler in a lot of places as far as dialogue goes.

I think if we can aim for 'NZ lowbrow blokey humour' and then inject a bit of cleverness into it, we'll probably do better. More visual gags also, methinks. I'll have to have some discussions with the team about what made our first attempt successful with the audience, despite being too long and a total mess, editing wise (it was probably the sock puppets). Our poor video tutor that year, pulling her hair out and swearing violently as the time ticked down... ahh, good times!

To sum up how we've done so far:

2006: We got the puppet 'genre' and so made a film noir detective movie with a sock puppet.

2007: We were given 'fairy tale' and so made a martial arts fairy tale movie. As you do.

2008: We got 'action movie'... and made a 6 minute long fight scene. It was pretty awful.

2009: Conspiracy movie! So of course we went with a zombie documentary. Makes sense.
