Beavering

On my third photoshop web tutorial now. Haven't been into the library this week since my foot is a bit bung and I'm resting it up but that hasn't stopped me from being all productive LIKE UNTO A MIGHTY BEAVER OF THE SERENGETI. Next week I'm going to start mucking about with Catalyst and see what I can make it do. Even though I have come around to the viewpoint of my fellow designers and other friends, who tell me Flash websites are the devil's work. I still think it has a lot of use for making demos, constructing online portfolios and other things.

I have a bit of refill paper on my desk with a list of Things To Do that are slowly being ticked off one by one. I have a thing about ticking off lists, I really do. There's something just really satisfying about it. Sometimes when I'm feeling really self indulgent I'll put a little smiley face at the end when it's all ticked. Maybe I should get myself a packet of gold stars or something.

Game at Andy's this Thursday. Whoo! I am playing a young naive police detective in the 1930s, who somewhat idolises the older, more cynical detective of the party. Together with a scientist and religious psychic, we'll be getting into wacky, wacky adventures involving Dread Things That Man Was Not Meant To Know and probably end up straight jacketed in a padded cell (this is Call Of Cthulhu after all) or possibly eaten by ancient gods with teeth for faces. Either way, should be fun!

Watched up to Amy's Choice of the new season of Dr Who, which I believe makes me up to date on the releases so far. I love it, I really do. I think Matt Smith has done an amazing job of portraying the Doctor, and really has that old guy in a young guy's body thing going on, more so than David Tennant (who was equally awesome just in different ways).
