On Friday I met up with Andy at Mighty Mighty for a few drinks, which turned into a few more drinks, and we discovered that when you spend lots of money at Mighty Mighty, they give you a free toasted sandwich. Catching up with the Andy Monster was really lovely, and we both staggered out into the cold a little worse for wear and hunted down some rogue burgers. Later on that evening Tamsyn came up to visit, and we hung out in my newly refurbished room replete with heater and many pillows, and watched Life. Great show, incidentally.
Saturday I headed down the hill with the girl to her flat, bumping into Emma and Simon on the way, who were out and about in Aro Valley, probably hunting down hipsters for sport. That's my assumption anyway, based on zero evidence but a solid wish to see them both dressed in khaki and wielding huge butterfly nets. Upon arriving at the Tamsyn and Vanessa Estate, I amused myself by cleaning the place up while the girls were out and about seeking pretty dresses and groceries, and then that evening we had a few quiet drinks with some peeps around a brazier, where there was roasted marshmallows and meaty things on sticks.
Today was nice and laid back. We had brunch at Fidel's cafe, which is currently my favourite brunch place in Wellington. They can get pretty busy but the food is amazing, the service is friendly and they're as quick as can be expected given the large numbers coming in the door. Tomorrow shall be freelance things, then heading round to Jarrod and Steph's in the evening to prep for an Exalted game. Whoo!
