Feeling The Love

So this post was inevitable, because I wanted to say a big fat thankyou to everyone for being totally awesome during my time in the hospital. I don't take any of my friends or family for granted, and all the attention that's come my way has been really amazing and warmed the cockles and other squishy pink areas of my heart.

Tamsyn is really the bestest partner any large hairy person could ever ask for. She's been here with me as much as humanly possible, fed me creamed rice while I lay floppily on the bed in a drug induced haze and even ate hospital food on my behalf. Truly nobody should have to make such a sacrifice. Between this and the week I was couch ridden, especially during her sinus infection, I owe her a lot of pampering and will pay the debt gladly.

Tamsyn's folks have been really lovely. Visited me a few times in the ward, brought me delicious home made stew when the thought of more Misc Meat and Stodge was enough to make me buckle into a moist heap of beardy tears and kept me company in the morning with talk of the world and a cup of tea.

And the books! Oh such books I have received, a veritable library from visiting friends... admittedly I've read almost none of them since we got my laptop hooked up to the internet, but hey, they lend the ward a certain literary feel, as long as Dr McNinja, a Grey Knights codex, transformers toy magazines and Sandman comics are the sort of readings that you feel lends a credibly well read air. Which I of course do.

Mum and dad are coming down to see me, either this weekend or at the end of August. I know it's not easy for them to get time off work and get down here, so the fact that they're taking the time to do so really means a lot. I don't get to see my folks all that often, and nowhere as much as I'd like.

Sooooo yeah, I guess I just wanted to say a big thankyou to those who've dropped by in person (you totally helped keep me sane), to friends that have kept in touch over the Tubes (ditto) and to all the well wishes and love that's come my way. They might be evil little bastard infecto-stubs, but my toes have at least shown me how amazing my friends and family are.
