I've got about six weeks to go with school, and then I'm a fully qualified graphic designer who will visually communicate your face right off.
Moving to Wellington after the new year, with some friends from class. We looked on the web for design jobs going in the city, and were pleased to see that there's actually quite a lot, so that's cool. I'll hopefully be able to apply for the more intermediate stuff with room for promotion, as opposed to the mac monkey graphics slave position, reserved for those people who know photoshop but no actual design theory.
I'll tell you what, I'm damn glad that I stayed on for that extra year. All the theory and research method that's been crammed into my head has really highlighted the difference between the diploma and degree level of education, and I reckon that will show when I go job hunting.
Whooo!
