Dear Internets.
Well, I arrived back in New Zealand; Land of Sheep and Hobbits on Monday and the week thus far has been a whirlwind of social engagements in Hamil-Tron City Of The Future. Plus thinking about things a lot, and talking to friends and family about plans and ideas and all that jazz.
So far every single person without exception has taken one look at me and said something along the lines of 'ZOMG DAN YOU ARE SO THIN' which has been a leetle disconcerting but somewhat gratifying at the same time. I generally just nod and smile or quietly pass them some money when no-one else is looking. But, efforts paying off and all that stuff, so huzzah.
Something that's struck me is that despite how much people change they also stay the same in a lot of ways, which is cool. It's nice to catch up with people after 2 or 3 years and be able to do so without much awkwardness or trying to work out who they are now. Hamilton is slowly growing and changing and even though I may not ever live there again part of me still belongs there.
Possibly my malfunctioning pancreas, but hey it's something.
I've been talking with Annika a fair bit. I miss her a lot, and I hate that I had to leave her in Australia to get my shit together. But, we're both dealing with things and hopefully soon we'll be together again in much better circumstances. More on that later.
Bye for now.
Love, Dan.
