Ever wondered how a type 2 diabetic goes about checking his blood sugar levels? Not at all? Well too bad, because I'm gonna show you anyway!
Step 1. This is my Acu-Chek® Performa™ case! It's black and Easy To Carry.™
Step 2. These are the FORBIDDEN TREASURES inside. You can see, the case of test strips on the top left, the actual reader mechanism beneath that, and in the middle is the pen-like finger pricker of doom which draws fourth my unholy diseased fluids for inspection.

Step 3! I pull out a test strip, after washing my candy-tainted digits, and insert one into the reader. This automagically switches it on. Woah.
Step 4! I prick my finger with the pen thingee, which causes a decent sized droplet of blood to well up on the tip. It HURTS AND I CRY FOR A BIT. But they are manly tears.

Step 5! I carefully slide the drop of blood into the end of the test strip. The reader thinks for a few moments, during which time the ENTIRE WORLD holds its breath...
Step 6! AAAAAAGH. My levels need to be between 5 and 8, and I recently had lunch, so I'd expect them to be on the higher end of that range. The reader gives me a 7. I am satisfied that I get to live another day without my penis falling off.
