Give And Take

Went to Rebel Sport with Michael on Sunday and he picked up another 10 kg of weights for his set. Yesterday we put the couch on its side and used it as a bench for pressing, which worked really well. The set is still only 25 kg all up, but it's good enough to do 3 sets of 20 presses and certainly feel it afterwards.

Using that I also did 2 sets of 20 squats, and sweet Moses' nipples my thighs! I stretched before, afterwards and also this morning and I'm still hobbling about like old man Willis, it's hilarious. I'm reminded of doing squats at the gym with Jarrod way back in the day, and his amusing observation that when you do such an exercise you either have a 'giver' or a 'taker' face. The 'givers' look angry and make aggressive grunting noises, while the 'takers' sound either a bit sexy or in pain... or both, with an expression that indicates someone is standing behind them and giving them a good seeing to.

Usually I make the giver face, it's true. But this morning I think I feel like more of a taker as I hobble about making groaning noises every time I sit down or stand back up...
