With Or Without?

Doing up some basic web design elements for my webcomic... and I'm a bit on the fence about texturing the banner. Here's the banner in smooth and textured formats...

The texture I used will be different, so don't get too hung up on the fact that it's more industrial than sci fi in appearance; I know. This is just filler open source stuff that I put in there while I'm deciding and making my own.

So yeah. Unsure which is best, though I'm personally leaning towards the textured version. Any peeps who do more web design than I do would like to wade in on that and anything else, feel free.

the textured one is more contrasty, which I like, and I think it looks more "future" too.

It has a slightly more serious tone to me than the untextured one, which might not fit with what you're after, but also I might be talking shit.

Some of it might depend on the other elements on the page. I think the textured one will contrast with the reasonably "flat" art of the comic (at least in terms of what I've seen so far). If the rest of the page is also textured a lot, it might look too busy.
