Project Runway And Hat

Today I did my friend Ben a small favour and was his model type person for the textiles class he's taking. We drove out to his school in Porirua and I stood there patiently for 2 hours, occasionally holding my arms out, or up, or tucked under my knee while standing on one foot, while he ducked and wove around me doing mysterious things with bits of calico cloth and pins. The end result was a pattern he can use for testing out what he's learned, plus we now have my size and shape recorded for when I have some spare cash to commission things. Assuming my shape doesn't change over the next few months AND WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF THAT. Also I managed to only make myself bleed on the pins once! I'm so proud.

In other news, I splashed out a mighty 5 dollars at the Warehouse and got myself a hat, because my ears were bloody freezing in the bitter southerly winds coming up from Antarctica. It's a beanie type hat with a cap on it and looks almost exactly like this:

Also for the few of you who read this and aren't on my friends only livejournal, I hopefully have a job. It's only 2 days a week to start out with, but a) it's design work and b) better money a week than the unemployment benefit. The job is putting a magazine together and looks pretty easy. They're getting me to come into the office for the day soon, to see how I do.
