Biddly Biddly Boo!

Greytown was very nice. The main street is covered in outrageously expensive, upper class antique stores and art galleries, plus some nice cafes and other boutique shops. Including one lovely little old fashioned place where they sold horrendously marked up, Napoleon era soldiers. I took one look at them and turned up my nose; here was an old lady with a mouth like she could professionally suck lemons for her country, selling miniatures and she couldn't even apply a basic highlight! I could have easily done a better job. Too bad I guess that I don't own a beautiful olde time boutique store to sell space marines out of.

I had a lovely time with Tamsyn's family. We stayed in a very cute, rustic cottage that was all lit up with fairy lights when we arrived, and had marvelously kitchy things like 1950s English books full of private school yarns laying about the place. Also a new private joke was born, about two chickens. You had to be there.

Oh, and I really do have to mention the Main Street Cafe and Deli, where you can get the best pies in the entire multiverse. I had me a venison pie with gravy and mashed potato, and it was like a week long bender plus getting arrested for indecent exposure in my mouth.

IN OTHER NEWS, I am fixing my bike tomorrow, or at least having a look at it with a mind to seeing what needs doing to make it road worthy again. I'm quite sick of hobbling around the place with my craptastic toe, thankyou very much, and I miss getting decent exercise. Since it looks like the waiting list for surgery is going to be somewhere between two to six months, proactive Dan is being proactive.

ALSO I am percolating on picking up a cheap scanner so I can start doing the occasional cartoon illustrations to go with my blog posts. Reckon that might be fun and give me an excuse to draw stuff. TO THE TRADEMES!

NOT TO MENTION did you know there's a sega genesis emulator for the mac, and that you can get Shining Force 2 on this thing? Well you can, and I did and ITS AMAZING. Yes the graphics are laughable and the storyline is stupid but OH HOW I LOVE IT.
