Year One

Spent today with Tamsyn, for lo it was our first year anniversary. See, also, files marked 'Holy Balls', paying close attention to sub-section 'How The Hell Has It Been A Year Already'.

We had pancakes for brunch, which were amazing and delicious, followed by lazing about the house watching TV shows on the laptop. In the late afternoon we trundled into town, spotting interesting costumes and the ever entertaining game of Sexy Variant spotting, which goes along the lines of 'oh look, a sexy cat girl' or 'there go some sexy flamingos' or the ever present default 'sexy sexy' costume which I am happy to say seemed almost equally presented across gender lines.

For those overseas readers Wellington is currently hosting the Sevens, which is basically a weekend long costume party in town with loads of drunken people everywhere and overtones of rugby. As noted above, I observed that the Sevens brings out the exhibitionist streak in the male of the species in much greater numbers than Halloween... possibly all the beer and rugby makes them feel more secure about showing off ample man flesh, which essentially means there is eye candy about for pretty much anyone.

For an early dinner we had Taiwanese at Cha and ate until we waddled. Then we checked out a photographic collection at the museum and ended the day with The King's Speech, which was just as good as the trailer promised. Beautifully shot and very well acted. Colin Firth did an amazing job.

And that was my anniversary day with Tamsyn. Really enjoyable celebration of 365 days together, and being able to come home to a lovely flat rounded it off perfectly.

Tomorrow we're going to tackle the study and see if we can make it a bit more... studyish. This may have to involve fire in some way.
