While writing up a new post, I discovered that I'd accidentally left a draft unpublished. Here it is.
I call it a draw. Went back to the doctor's today and miraculously the non stick silicon bandaging had done the job and my patchy big toe has now stopped leaking. HUZZAH!
It's currently got an interesting honeycomb pattern where the fleshy bits have granulated through the holes in the bandage, but that's happened before and isn't a biggie. The prognosis at this stage is that I need to keep off it as much as possible for quite some time. It's going to take many moons for my toes to regrow the usual layers of skin where the gangrene was lurking about and I need to be careful with them for the forseeable future. Which means a visit to the podiatrist tomorrow to see why my specialist footwear boat-shoes took the skin off my feet in the first place.
Withdrawals are pretty much done and dusted. Felt a bit dizzy over the last few days but the worst is well behind me. The best thing about tramadol that I didn't really think about until the benefit was no longer in place, is that they let me keep my feet up on the couch all day without getting sore, crampy stiff legs. I want to run through the meadows like a crazed wildebeest and I can't. What is this!
Aaaaaand that's life. Doing some freelancey bits, looking forward to Tamsyn's work Christmas function this weekend, keeping up with the housework when I'm able, working on portfolio and cartoony things, making phonecalls to bureaucratic organisations and being on hold a lot, watching Luther with Tamsyn, occasionally painting some models.
